I don't intend to. I'm going to be playing it safe tonight, for Saihara's sake.

What are you planning?

He told me you'd approached him about tonight. I think that's a good idea; after Kurusu, I think he'll be safer in the trial if I'm not his alibi. I'll feel better, too, knowing he's with somebody I can count on.

And since everyone's so concerned about me, I'll go with McGonagall. She watch me like a hawk, so I'll be in the clear as well.

You're, ah, surprisingly chipper, Akechi.

Well, I'm mostly faking it.

[laughs a little]

But it's also because we're close to the end now. If I can just play my cards right, if I can just push through a few more days, it'll all be over. Kurusu will be revived, and Shuichi and I can go start new lives somewhere. That's the hope that's holding me together.

[that's probably the first time somebody has done that and he hasn't wanted to hurt them for it. though it's still a little flustering.]

At any rate, I should probably get back to Shuichi. He's rather nervous about all of this...
